Question 1
Insurance company totaled my car, How much will i get for it?... I was in a pretty bad accident and the insurance company says that my car is totaled and they will write me a check for the amount. My question is what amount? On KBB would it be the trade in value, private party value, or the suggested retail value?
It was not my fault, There insurance company is paying for it.
Answers
1) i would consider it Private Party. - Claws-Of-Insanity
2) The lowest of the three. - Barcadcadacada
3) FA! and there will be more expence when you get another! - Sup
4) depends, was it ur fault , were u drinking, or anything that may have made u loose control of the car. cause then they wont give u the money of what it's worth. If it was just an accident say u hit a deer or someone hit you or whatever u will get what it's worth. Insurance companies are very tight when i comes to that - mysteriousman
5) this is such a grey area, I had a car that I bought for $200 got rear ended the next week and his insurance gave me $1500 for the car. I would say count your blessings on whatever you get from them, if you think they are trying to low-ball you have any and all receipts for work done showing them that you took care of the car this will often add value. - Wade C
6) They're most likely going to send you the price of the repairs. Research the amount of money it'll take to get your car fixed, and expect something in that general range. Never trust those insurance companies. They exist to rip you off. Be sure to make sure they send you what they owe you.
PS-As for Wade C, I'm not sure you're tellin' the truth. I could barely get the insurance company to cover a damaged headlight. - Daodedan
7) When I go looking for replacement automobile insurance is one of the simplest ways to save your money. You can get a quick estimate at websites they usually give you multiple quotes.
I tell my friends about http://www.InsureAutoNow.info - Matthew W

He does not want to risk his rates going up, but is more than happy for you to risk yours increasing. He has no problem with you committing a criminal act (insurance fraud), as long as he is not involved.
Tell him he has two choices. He can pay out of pocket to have your car repaired, or you can put in the claim against his insurance.
A true friend would not ask you to put yourself at risk to protect him from responsibility for his actions. You are not screwing him over, he is trying to screw you over. - fire4511
