Can i rent a car at age 19? And how?

Question 1
Can i rent a car at age 19? And how?... My car was in a car crash today and it was bad, i need a car for work this week, I cant use bus or etc..

maybe a cosign ? if yes where? maybe around (Chicago IL 60629 AREA) PLEASE HELP !?
it's not my fault,.... Her Insurance will cover all the damage

Answers
1) You can't. I think you have to be 25. A co-signer wouldn't help, they want the driver(you) to be 25. - ♦♦♦

2) Nope, gotta be at least 25 yr old. looks like taxi time. - Karl

3) Good luck with that. You can't rent one in PA until you are 25. Do you have a parent that will rent it and let you drive it? - Jacqueline

4) no. well maybe.

got in an accident.

got a rental.

they said you gotta be like 21 or over

but umm my insurance agent knew some people and well i brought my older brother with me for nothing

i am 20. - the worr e ore

5) I think you have to be 21 to rent a car, but you could probably just get a cosigner. - haha_mana911

6) ur 19 then maybe u can just take ur mom with u just in case and if u dnt where 2 go go 2 enterprise i think thats wat it is gudd luck - corey

7) No, you can not. Most won't rent unless you are 25, some will at 21. None will below 21. - oklatom

8) Enterprise will rent to drivers over 18 for the purposes of accident replacement with one very important condition. You need to show them that your collision coverage transfers to the rental while you drive it. In most cases, the coverage does transfer. If that is the case, Enterprise will rent to you.

I set these up all the time. - PamelaS

9) Age is 25, just take a taxi. - Aj K

driver license, learner permit help!!?... im already 15 and have been for about 7 months.

I want to learn to drive already, but I am not sure about the procedures. Also i live in California. and I wonder which is the fastest way to get my driver license.

I heard you can take the learners permit test over the internet? can someone please tell me if that is true, and if so how? and how much.

and also what are cross streets? i'm not quite sure what they are, examples please?

thank you for your time =3

10 points!!~

1) Doesnt your school have a drivers education class after school?

Mine did, and thats how i learned everything i know.

First they give you an information booklet, and then they read it all out to you and exolain the proceedures, and you take tests on the information you are given. If you pass the written part of the class [which last two weeks] then you get to do the hands on stuff. the teach would take you out on the streets and teach you how to handle th car properly, and the roadway rules. after you've had teh right amount of hours behind the wheel, you can go and apply for your drivers permit at the DMV. If you get your permit, then you have to have it for at least a year before you can go and apply to get your liscense.

Hope i helped even thought things are a little different here in NC! - Rachel

2) It depends on your state, you can find out at your local DMV or RMV, depending on what you call it (department or registry of motor vehicles). Usually, like in my state, you go to the RMV at 16 and get a driving book. Study it, it's basically questions on who has the right of way when driving, signals, and it can even be stupid questions like what color and shape is a stop sign. You take the test and get your permit if you pass. For 6 months, you can drive during any daylight hour without a licensed driver or with one for extended hours. If you have no accidents or tickets for that 6 months, you can qualify to take the actual driving test for your license. Like I said, it differs from state to state, some even require driving school for like 2 weeks. - trinity363

3) 15 and 6 months is the requirement. Go ahead and study to take it!

You have to go to the DMV, you cant take it online. It will cost about $28. Just read the book and you will pass the test. It doesnt even take that long to read the whole thing anyway. I passed it the first time but because i read all of it.

Go to drivers school if you can, it will help a ton. - bap32211

4) to obtain a drivers license, you must learn how to drive. to learn how to drive, you need an official learners permit. To obtain an official learners permit, you must apply for on (in person) and a California State Motor Vehicle Office. You must bring proof of age, proof of residence, and pass a written test. the tests consists of a number of questions with pertain to driving in California. You can study for this test on the internet. But you cannot take the test on/over the internet. Cross streets are streets that cross other streets. For example, if you're driving on Avenue 'B' and you make a right turn or left turn on 'Main Street, then Main Street would be considered a cross street of Avenue 'B'. If you are driving on Main Street and make a left or right turn on Avenue 'B', then avenue B would be considered a cross street of main street. Get It? You might be 15, but that might not even be old enough to obtain a learners permit. The rules are different from state to state. But judging by your question concerning cross streets, I think you have a long way to go before you obtain a learners permit. Good Luck. - Joseph

Answers
1) Your company will not pay your damage and the deer was not insured. - Give Blood

2) If you were driving and hit the deer, then your insurance company would cover for the damages if you have collision covereage. If your vehicle was parked and a deer hit it, then your insurance company would cover for it if you have comprehensive coverage. If you only have liability coverage, your insurance company will not cover for the damages. - Kenny

3) It's a comprehensive claim. If you have comprehensive coverage it's covered. You may also file it under your collision coverage if you don't have comprehensive. - eric

4) Do they give spelling lessons? If so, take them. It's hard to read what you're trying to say.

If you only have liability then they won't pay for your damages, I'm not sure why they would even send someone out to look at the damage. - Tony

Question 4
What is likely to happen as I've been caught driving without a licence or insurance?... I am 28, I moved to the UK 6 months ago, but I have permanent right to remain as I am the civil partner Of a UK resident.

Last night, my partner And I went out ot dinner and as my partner had too much to drink, We agreed it would be safer if I should drive home. ( the car is fully taxed, fully comprehensive insurance, and my partner has a full UK licence. They breath-tested me on the roadside and i was under the legal limit, however i was taken into custody for driving without a licence or insurance.

Ironically, the reason i haven't been able to apply for a UK licence yet is because the DVLA insisted I provide proof of identity, but my passport is already with the home office to get my residency stamp.

I was very cooperative with the police, and they allowed my partner to go home immediately, i was taken into custody and released 12 hours later. I have a remand/ Early Administrative Hearing in 10 days time at Harlow courthouse.

Any ideas on what I should do? do I need a solicitor present for this early hearing? And what sort of sentence/ fine / penalty could I expect to get?

Thank you

1) You drove a car without a Licence or Insurance?

Do you realise what would have happened if you had crashed into someone and permanently disabled them?

Let's reverse the situation. Your partner is out in their car. They are fully insured and road legal. A car runs into your partner and leaves them badly injured. As a result your partner is unable to work again and is confined to a wheelchair. You? You're just relieved that your partner isn't dead. The other driver - he's really sorry and everything (he's fine by the way, just a few bruises).

You need to find a way to (a) cover your partners income - because they cannot work any more. (b) Find a way to provide care for your partner whilst you are out at work (c) Either alter your existing house or move to a different house because your partner is now badly disabled and needs to be able to have a bath and move around the house. So you're looking at stairlifts, lifting equipment in the bathroom, wider doorways so that the wheelchair can get through.

Here's the real killer. How are you going to fund all this? Because the driver who hit your partner had no insurance - so you can't get the money from him via his Insurance company.

Now you see the problem? Now you see why we all have to have insurance? WITHOUT EXCEPTION!!!

Expect them to deal harshly. It's what you deserve. Oh and by the way, the fact that your partner is insured and taxed and has a Licence will count for precisely jack shit. - fenellaribena

2) They will take your "licence" away, you won't be able to drive for 2 years or something I doubt, They aren't gonna do much, prisons are to full & if baby P's step father gets a reduced sentence to 6 years for murdering a innocent little boy, need i say more? I regulary drive round with no licence, I don't give a damn, they won't do nowt & even if they did so what?! your better off a criminal these days. good luck & don't worry. xxxx - honeyneroli

Question 5
Some one crashed into me, How Valid does my own insurance have to be?... Some one crashed into my car, whilst i was at work. My car was parked out side my house, and the person who crashed, was a neighbour. Every thing is cool, hes contacted his insurance, ive contacted mine, there are witnesses ETC. The only thing im thinking is im insured under my mums name, the cars registered in mine. From what i can remember i may of ticked a box to possibly to say its registered in my mums name.

Also there is a sports Exhaust, induction kit, and dump valve (which i have now removed - but not put the originals back on) but my insurance was none the wiser of these mods. My jip is, that if my own insurance was invalid, would the other persons insurance not pay out?

To take it one further, if i had no mot/tax/insurance, would they then pay out? (i do have those). all responses are welcome, thanks!
Id just like to add, when i say i ticked to say its registered in my mums name, it acturly registered in mine (i bought it)

1) thare was no need for you to call your insurance if your car was parked he is at fault 100% - robert d

2) Make your claim under the name of the person, your mother or yourself, on the Insurance documents. - Tony B

3) If you had no mot, then you wouldn't have insurance or tax and the car shouldn't have been on the road; but since you have there's no worry there. It wouldn't matter if it was in your name or your mums - it's insured and would be replaced in the manner it was insured for..i.e without the modifications. - pieman66

4) When I go looking for replacement auto insurance is a no brainer way to save on car expenses. You can get a easy estimate online they most often give you multiple prices.
