Question 1
CAUUGHT DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE TWICE, WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN?... I HAD MY LICENSE SUSPENDED DUE TO A D.U.I IN 2006. I HAVE COMPLETED MY PROBATION. I WAS CAUGHT DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE GOING TO WORK TWICE. THEY ALLOWED ME TO KEEP MY CAR. I WORK FULL TIME AND GO TO COLLEGE FULLTIME. HOW MUCH TIME IN JAIL DO YOU THINK I WILL DO.
I WORK FULL TIME FOR SEARS IN THE DAY TIME, AND FULL TIME COLLEGE AT NIGHT.
Answers
1) depends on your state... - Maisam
2) Maybe they will just take away ur license like they did in the Simpsons - Superandhero
3) how the hell do you work full time and go to college full time? -____-
btw... hopfully jail - Creampuff
4) you'll do just enough jail time to lose your job (had a co-worker that this happened to recently) Your only hope is that you were driving to or from either work or school (have class and work schedule at the ready) ask for a hardship permit this allows (or at least use to) you to drive between 6am and 6pm (father had to do this in the late 80's) but being its YOUR 2nd time being caught the judge just might throw you in for the hell of it. just be honest with the judge and tell him you situation, if you try to snowball him he'll screw ya. - Wade C
5) Their is allowances for a permit to drive to work if you live where there is no public transport ask your solicitor about it however its not good seeings you didnt seek that first. It is a permit to drive only directly to and from your workplace at specific times only where there is no public transport.
You may not go to jail at all I know people who have been caught twice same offense and not gone to jail at all. A lengthy good behavior bond, and large fines. If worst comes to worst you can go to weekend detention as you are working and studying, it is not like jail at all. You go in on the Friday night and you come out on the Sunday afternoon and have to do community service type projects on the weekends. Ask probation and parole about it, if you a required to have a pre-sentence report it means they are looking at whether to send you to full time jail or not and what the options are. If you are working it is very likely you will not have to go to full time jail IF you have not beento jail before for the same offense. I do know of a rare case where a guy had been to jail for the same offense however went to periodic detention ie weekends as he had improved his life dramatically and was working.
BEWARE MATE IF YOU COMMIT THREE SERIOUS OFFENSES IN I THINK IT IS FIVE YEARS YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE TAGGED A REPEAT OFFENDER AND YOU MAY HAVE ANOTHER FIVE YEARS SUSPENSION ADDED ON. Although I do know someone who got out of the five years additional penalty but is still tagged a repeat offender.
All the best - be good ;) - indieochre
6) Sell your car and take a cab or bus to work, stop playing with fire, you'll only get burned. - D B

Question 3
Neck hurts after car accident...go to hospital? Who's insurance covers it?... My wife and I were driving today and we got rear-ended. At the time of the accident, neither one of us thought we were hurt. Now my wife is complaining that her neck is hurting when she turns her head to the left or to the right. We don't have health insurance but we do have $5,000 worth of medical payment coverage on our car insurance. We don't know what the other driver's car insurance was like, though.
What we're wondering is if my wife should go to the hospital. Will we have to pay out of pocket? Who's insurance covers this? Will the insurance cover it even if it turns out to be nothing?
Another question I have is do we need to go to the hospital or can we just go to a clinic? We don't have a car right now because it's at the tow yard so it would be kinda hard to get to the hospital but we have a clinic within walking distance of our house.
Answers
1) go to the hospital just to make sure or call 1 800 ask gary your insurance should cover everything after 1000. which is the standard medical deductable. but the at fault drive is on the hook for all that - Rob
2) go to whichever you like, doctor or clinic. the hard part here is that you need to prove your wifes neck pain was caused by the car accident. if you can prove that, the other persons insurance should be the one to cover it since their driver caused the accident and therefor the pain.
you would have to consult both insurance companies to find out what would be needed as proof tho, because that right there would tell you if it was worth your time.
i personally would say go after the other insurance company for it, but then im still bitter from two years ago when my fiance and i got rear ended while stopped at a stoplight, and the lady lied to the cops and told them she had insurance and didnt. so my fiance's deductible went from $100 to $500 and now we are STILL in court trying to get the cost of repairs back from it. - Ashley D
3) First thing in the morning, call your insurance agent and ask him. Second thing, take your wife to the clinic. If you were rear-ended, the other driver's insurance will cover the medical, if he has any. Your insurance may cover it and then get the money back from the other guy's insurance. I don't know if there's a deductible here. Ask your agent. He knows all this stuff. For a faster more accurate answer, ask his secretary.
Don't sign anything that looks like a release from the other insurance company until your wife is as good as she's going to get and the other insurance company has paid for it. Once you sign the release, it's over for them. - jack of all trades
4) Definitely seek medical attention IMMEDIATELY, even if it is nothing. Under NO FAULT, your company will cover you and go after the other company. In 99.99 % of all rear end collisions, the driver of the car behind is at fault because he did not keep "assured clear distance". The only exception is when the front car is BACKING UP. Take your car insurance ID along to the doctor's office and also call the insurance company and make a report while the details are fresh in your mind. Since you are likely NOT at fault, this protects your rights if it ever goes to court. Also, make sure you get a copy of the police report if there was one. - Mike

Question 4
earlier this year i was in a car accident and one of my friends was in the backseat passed out drunk?... and laying down without a seatbelt. i was driving on the highway and there was a car parked in the middle lane, i was on the left lane and switched in to the middle without realizing the car was parked and was not able to stop in time and rear ended it. at the time time i was held liable since it was a rear-ending, my insurance company said i could appeal but i did not because it made very little difference. my friend that was passed out in the back seat during the accident fell forward and hit her nose against the front seats and sustained minor injuries. she had some swelling in her nose/face but ended up being fine...now 10 months later i was just notified that she is suing me in a personal lawsuit for 100K+ does she have any grounds for this? should i pursue the appeal that the accident was not my fault? not sure what to do.
Answers
1) It doesn't matter if it's your fault or not. You are still being sued.
Now all your so called friend will have to do is convince a judge that the accident was your fault.
I would hire an attorney.
Good luck...
.. - redspike9
2) if your friend was drunk and under your care that makes you responsible for making sure he/she has there buckle on and is safe. thats what the judge will most likely look at. - j-man
3) Talk to your insurance company - they should be the ones to handle this. You may be found liable because as the operator of the motor vehicle, it is your responsibility to ensure that all occupants wear their safety belts at all times - not 2 B fooled
4) Call your insurance company, she would be presenting a claim against your bodily injury coverage.
Let them duke it out with her. If she was not wearing her seatbelt, she assumes some of the risk for her injuries, and if she recovered with no problems, she won't get much. She has one of those attorneys who asks for the moon up front just to see if it will fly. Your insurance company represents you in this matter so let them know right away what is up. She can present her claim, but $100k +? She is dreaming. - PamelaS
