No License... Baby In Car... What?

Question 1
No License... Baby In Car... What?... What would happen to the baby if you were caught driving on a suspended license with him in the car?

I just got a ticket today, which suspended my license for 6 months. I live alone and my family is about 2 hours south of me. I go to school during the week, drop him off at the sitters, grocery shop, and I go to Target once a week to grab items that I need.

Stupid of me to get the ticket, yes, but what will they do with him if I get pulled over again? I can't just stay home with all this that has to be done.
I'm in a whole lot of trouble then.. There are no busses here in my town, let alone where I take him for the babysitters.

I know I have the suspension because I got a letter in the mail back in February 2009 saying if I got 1 more ticket this year, it would happen. I went this long, I wasn't expecting to get one.

Answers
1) You go to jail, child goes to foster home. - west brom

2) take him to a relative but you might be in the slammers - nicole

3) how do you know about the suspension???doesnt happen that way in ny and nj - ken k

4) well itss more of a big deal that your driving without insurance. You have to think about the other people on the road too. if you get in an accident wich can happen no matter how careful your being then youll readlly be screwed and your likely to get sued if that happens. Take a bus - fishy

5) After you take him to the sitter via the bus, you get back on the bus & do your errands. Or get a trust worthy friend to assist you. Your license is suspended & there's not much you can do about that. When you get it back, reevaluate why it got suspended & improve your driving skills. The police at their discretion can get him taken away to social services if they deem it prudent. Your inability to drive w/o due regard to the laws will get that done. - The Eagle Keeper

6) Well you will end up in jail, like Paris Hilton. - Sirex

7) What kind of ticket suspends your license for 6 months? Don't you usually just pay a fine? Well, you said it was stupid to get the ticket, surely you can see you'd be compounding the problem to drive on it. Glad to see you are worried about the baby, but driving on a six-month suspended might get, like jail-time or no license at all and foster care?

What then? Looks like you need to investigate public transportation, taxi, or getting in a carpool, buying a bike or a stroller with a basket. If you're going to school, maybe someone who lives close would let you pay for gas in exchange for a ride. At least you are thinking ahead. You know inside what the dumb thing to do would be, right? If you can't fight the ticket, you're going to have to go without driving. That's going to require a little initiative and resourcefulness on your part...but that's what being a parent or a grownup is all about. 6 months isn't that long. Good luck. - Sheller

5) If I were you, I would go in with a reciept and tell them that your father was mistaken, that you didn't know what he was doing until after he went in and gave them the wrong information.

If you have a proof of sale, it should be fine...

You can even tell them that you TOLD your father that it was $2,500.00 and that you didn't know he would be coming in to fill out the paperwork.

Question 4
Insurance coverage in the first six months?... Does insurance cover a licensed driver between the age of 17-18 in Ohio, during the first six months if the driver was in a car accident?
What if a driver is covered by their parent's insurance during the first six months; will they still be covered by the insurance if in an accident?

Answers
1) As long as the appropriate coverages are available and the driver had permission to use the car. And as long as there are no exclusions of coverage within the first 6 months. - CD2007

2) That all depends on what kind of insurance you put on it- almost all insurance companies require that you add the additional driver onto the policy once they obtain a license. Some people don't do this intentionally, because they know that their insurance premiums will go up as soon as they have a young driver on the policy. However, if you never reported the new driver than the insurance company can deny the claim. If the 17 yr old has their own car/policy, then they should def be covered. Also, when you say "covered," do you mean full coverage where ins will pay for your car to be fixed as well, or only liability (basic coverage) where the insurance company will only pay for the other vehicle? Call up your agent and find out, too many factors. - Dan

3) To save money automobile insurance is a quite simple way to save or lower overall expenses. You can get a easy quote online they often give you multiple prices.

I know people who have used and recommend http://www.InsureAutoNow.info - Wm G

4) Insurance starts the moment you sign up for it, and are accepted by the insurance company. In the case of a minor, it starts when your parent adds you to their policy. - oklatom
